Full Description: Aurangzeb Alamgir, Islamabad -Mathura, Gold Mohur, 1079 AH, Obv: "mihr munir" couplet, Rev: sana julus zarb on top, (KM # 315.21), about extremely fine. Islamabad (Mathura) Earlier known as Muttra, is about 64 Km North West of Agra on the Jamuna river and was famous in the days of the Maurya Empire. It has most important places of pilgrimage of Hindus Shrines. The City was sacked by Mahmud of Ghazni about 1017 AH. During the time of Aurangzeb, Some of the most ancient Hindu Shrines in the area were demolished on the orders of the bigoted mughal ruler who substituted the name Islamabad for Mathura.
Thus the coins bearing Islamabad mint are very rare.
